The Saudi Tourism Development Fund (TDF) continues its efforts to drive tourism investments across Saudi Arabia, with a recent focus on Al-Ahsa.
A visit to the region, part of an ongoing nationwide tour, saw the TDF team engage with key figures, including the Governor of Al-Ahsa and Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, the acting CEO of the Al-Ahsa Development Authority.
The discussions centered on strategic opportunities to advance tourism and strengthen regional development.
Qusai Al-Fakhri, CEO of TDF, said: “Our visit to Al-Ahsa underscores our commitment to promoting investment opportunities within the tourism sector and providing innovative solutions that empower private sector stakeholders and entrepreneurs to tap into the region’s immense potential.
“We believe that Al-Ahsa’s unique tourism assets will attract visitors both domestically and internationally, and we look forward to further strengthening our partnerships with local authorities and the private sector to bring impactful tourism projects to life, in alignment with the National Tourism Strategy for the oasis region of Al-Ahsa.”
In addition to meeting with Prince Saud, the TDF team held discussions with the mayor of Al-Ahsa, Eng Essam bin Abdul Latif Al-Mulla, and the chairman of the Al-Ahsa Chamber of Commerce, Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Mousa. These discussions were vital in identifying potential investment opportunities and collaborative initiatives to develop tourism projects contributing to the sector’s growth. The meetings reaffirmed TDF’s role as a key enabler for the private sector, working in line with the objectives of the National Tourism Strategy.
The visit also featured a Tourism Development Townhall, hosted in partnership with the Al-Ahsa Chamber of Commerce. During the event, TDF leadership provided an overview of their strategic initiatives to support the private sector’s involvement in tourism.
The leadership team also outlined the business solutions offered by TDF, which are designed to enable investors to achieve sustainable growth within the tourism industry in Al-Ahsa. By engaging with private sector stakeholders, TDF seeks to ensure that investments in the region are aligned with the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
As part of its ongoing efforts, TDF has already facilitated the development of seven key tourism projects in Al-Ahsa, with a combined investment value exceeding SAR2 billion. These projects are expected to add more than 700 hotel rooms to the region, accommodating the growing number of visitors. TDF’s nationwide tour, organized in collaboration with chambers of commerce, aims to raise awareness about its programs and initiatives that support investors in exploring opportunities in the tourism sector.
