Masterpieces of the MANN
A standout feature of the festival is the “Masterpieces of the MANN” exhibition from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, showcased at the Maraya cultural venue. This marks the first time in Saudi Arabia that visitors can explore artifacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum. The Roman cities buried under volcanic ash following Mount Vesuvius’s eruption in A.D. 79. The exhibition also includes pieces from the esteemed Farnese Collection, renowned for its ancient Greek and Roman art.
Additional unique experiences at the festival encompass the “Hegra After Dark” event at Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, captivating drone shows, and the Hegra Candlelit Classics concert series. Attendees can embark on the “Quest for the Ancient Kingdoms” tour in Wadi Al-Naam, also known as the Valley of the Ostriches, celebrated for its striking rock formations.
“The Incense Road Experience” in AlUla’s Old Town provides an immersive journey through narrow alleys lined with traditional mud-brick buildings. Recently, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples joined the Royal Commission for AlUla’s network of cultural partners. This collaboration aligns with heritage and educational institutions from the UK, France, China, and Italy, focusing on preserving, studying, and celebrating AlUla’s 20,000-year-old heritage.
